Expressive arts therapy recognizes the healing power of multi-art exploration. Instead of working with just one expressive form (e.g., dance, painting, drawing, photography, writing, drama), participants are invited to explore the interplay between the practices in a supportive, non-judgmental environment that fosters creativity. In this inaugural therapeutic weekend intensive, Dr. Jamie Marich (a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist and creator of the Dancing Mindfulness practice) will lead participants on a powerful journey through layers of discovery. This weekend intensive is designed for participants to do their own work. Although participants may learn strategies that they can carry into their work with others, continuing professional education is not the focus of the weekend. Dr. Marich will help you to explore how meeting your intention with the expressive forms that most resonate with you can help to set a foundation for discovery. However, you will also be encouraged to branch into the expressive forms that beckon beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone, for in these explorations you may discover the richest connections. The special focus of this retreat is on taking care of YOURSELF during the holidays, which can come with their sense of turbulence for a variety of reasons.
Retreat limited to 14 participants.
